Cook County Sheriff’s police, and firefighters and paramedics from Glenview responded about 9:06 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2022 to a report of a shooting at an apartment building in the block of 10400 Michael Todd Terrace in Glenview.
Initially police and paramedics received a report that one person was shot, but when Cook County Sheriff’s police officers arrived at about 9:10 p.m. the officers discovered two people had been shot. A victim that was fatally shot was found with no pulse at another apartment building nearby. A second paramedic ambulance was dispatched by about 9:11 p.m.
CPR along with Advanced Life Support treatment was administered to one of victims. Both patients were outside the apartment buildings. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other victim was transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.
Jose Guzman, age 16, 2023 died of multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.
The scene was secure by 9:12 p.m., but then police thought they might have found the offender on the scene. However, there was no suspect taken into custody Saturday night, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.
