Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched about 3:15 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2023 to a report of an armed robbery following a theft in progress in the block of 24800 North Milwaukee Avenue, unincorporated Vernon Hills, for a report of an armed robbery.
Lake County Sheriff’s deputies arrived and determined the victim, a 40-year-old man who lives at the property, was awoken when he heard his skid-steer being driven off the property. He went outside to investigate and was confronted by the offender, Adam Frank, 41, of the 0-100 block of Evergreen Street, Lake Zurich.
Frank displayed a firearm and told the victim that if he called the police, he’d shoot the victim. Frank exited the skid-steer and fled on foot. Sheriff’s K9 Drako responded along with Mundelein K9 Ranger. The duo tracked Frank for approximately one mile and located him hiding in a wetland area. He surrendered when the K9s confronted him.
Frank was found to be in possession of a semi-automatic pistol.
Upon reviewing the facts and circumstances of the case, Frank was charged with:
Armed Robbery (Class X Felony)
Theft over $500 (Class 3 Felony)
Aggravated Assault
Frank remains held in the Lake County Jail on $500,000.00 bail. His next court date is August 25, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
