Connections to Care (formerly Escorted Transportation Services, NW) provides rides for seniors (60+) who can no longer drive to their medical/dental appointments. This includes doctor/dentist routine check-ups, chronic disease followup visits, labwork, x-rays, physical therapy and minor surgical procedures within 14 northwest suburbs. Passengers must be able to get in and out of a car unassisted, although they may use a cane or walker.
Volunteer drivers pick up seniors at their homes, drive them to their appointments, wait for them, and then return them to their homes. These wonderful volunteers use their time, cars and gas to help these seniors who can no longer safely drive or utilize public transportation to get to these important healthcare appointments. We do request a $15 donation per round trip ride, yet no one is ever denied a ride based upon ability to pay. With the Connections to Care service, passengers and their families have the peace of mind that they can age in place while caring for their health needs.

The organization began as Escorted Transportation Service in 2006 when a similar program was discontinued in the community. The 15,000th ride was provided in 2013. The organization’s name change to Connections to Care occurred in 2021.
