Arlington Heights police responded about 3:06 PM Saturday April 8, 2023 to an armed robbery at 1300 Block of West Campbell Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that a USPS mail carrier reported while standing at his postal truck an unknown subject approached him and demanded his master key, also known as an arrow key. The subject had one hand inside his pocket which led the mail carrier to believe he had a weapon. The mail carrier yelled for help at which time the subject entered a dark colored Kia and left the area.
The offender is described as a black male, 20-25 years old, approximately 6 feet tall, thin build, wearing black pants, blue sweatshirt and a ski mask. The Arlington Heights Police Department did not indicate that the mail carrier gave up the key, which is a master key that is used to access a limited number apartment mail boxes.
The suspect is wanted for investigation of Aggravated Robbery.
The crime is reported to have occurred on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 3:05 PM.
