Police and firefighter/paramedics from Buffalo Grove responded about 2:31 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2022 to the block of 2800 Acacia Terrace for a request for a well-being check for a female employee that did not arrive at work.

Police on arrival discovered a crime scene with five victims dead at the scene. The Lake County Major Crimes Assistance Team was assigned to the scene, and the Buffalo Grove Mobile Communications van took a position in front of the house. A police tent was also set up in front of the house.

In a news release Buffalo Grove police said they were dispatched at 11:12 a.m. to a single-family residence in the 2800 block of Acacia Terrace regarding the well-being check on an adult female, and that on arrival police were unable to make contact with anyone inside the home. Police said forced entry was deemed necessary, and when a sweep of the home was conducted, five deceased individuals were found. Initially the reason for the time discrepancy between 11:12 a.m. and 2:31 p.m. is unknown.

At least one neighbor said the police activity at the home was noticed in the afternoon.

Acacia Terrace is blocked about a half a block north of the crime scene and a half block south of the crime scene. Even a USPS mail truck with a post office worker was not allowed to deliver the mail in that area of the block at about 6:15 p.m.
