Crash at Route 176 and Fairfield Rd Near Wauconda Injures 3 People

Police, firefighters and paramedics from Wauconda responded about 5:07 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2022 to a report of a crash with injuries at Route 176 and Fairfield Road in Fremont Township near Wauconda. Police, firefighters, and paramedics received a report that a green Ford pickup truck and a blue vehicle. One vehicle was smoking, but the reported smoke was possibly material from an activated airbag. Two Wauconda ambulances were initially assigned to the scene.

Wauconda Battalion Chief 34 on arrival reported two vehicles with moderate damage. Two minutes later the battalion chief reported there was no entrapment. The crash involved a green pickup truck and a blue SUV. One patient was transported to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Cuba Township near Barrington, and a second patient was transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. The transportation status of a third patient with injuries initially believed to be minor was unknown.
