Police, firefighters and paramedics from Elk Grove Village responded about 9:24 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2022 to a report of an injured bicyclist at Busse Road and Louis Avenue in Elk Grove Village.

The first fire crew on arrival reported the victim was dead at the scene. The victim was located on Louis Avenue just west of Busse Road.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the bicyclist died of multiple injuries after a motor vehicle struck the bicyclist. The victim was only described as a male/white, age 48, and a resident of Chicago. The victim’s identity release is pending notification of family.

No driver remained at the scene claiming to be involved in the crash. Initially, no description of the hit-and-run driver or the hit-and-run driver’s vehicle was provided by the Elk Grove Village Police Department.
