Adult Male Accused of Using Concealed Camera to Capture Photos of Underage Female at House in Arlington Heights
A former resident of Arlington Heights surrendered to charges of Manufacturing Child Pornography on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 after a police investigation that goes back to August 2021.
In August of 2021, the Arlington Heights Police Department received a report from a resident after she observed the defendant, Scott Witz, allegedly viewing a covertly taken photograph of an underage female on a computer.
After a police report was filed, Witz relocated to the State of Texas. An arrest warrant for the charge of Manufacturing Child Pornography was obtained.
Witz was living in the residence with the complainant and the juvenile female victim on North Douglas Avenue in Arlington Heights. Upon being discovered, Witz took the computer and departed from the Arlington Heights residence. Investigators recovered a second computer issued by Witz’ employer. A forensic analysis of this computer revealed covertly captured digital images of the juvenile in varying stages of undress. According to the Arlington Heights Police Department, an additional image depicted the defendant with an outreached arm manipulating the camera in its concealed location.
On Tuesday, August 9, 2022, Scott Witz surrendered on the charges and was released after posting bond. The next scheduled court date for Scott Witz is Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. at the Cook County Circuit Court Rolling Meadows.
The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
