Northbrook Teen Struck and Killed by Amtrak Train at Glen/North Glenview Train Station on Lehigh Avenue

Police, firefighters and paramedics responded just after 6:50 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2022 to a report that a pedestrian was struck by an Amtrak train at the Glen/North Glenview train station, 2301 Lehigh Avenue in Glenview. Police, firefighters and paramedics discovered that a teen male pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train.

The identity of the teen was released as Northbrook resident Ryan McDonagh, 15, who was struck about 6:50 p.m. at the Glen/North Glenview train station and pronounced dead at the scene.

Amtrak police are leading the investigation of the incident, where Metra police and Glenview police were also assigned to the scene. The Amtrak Alerts Twitter alert described the incident as a Trespasser Incident that stopped Hiawatha Train 340 west of Glenview. The Hiawatha Amtrak service transports passengers between Chicago and Milwaukee. The Hiawatha stops at the Glenview station, but not the Glen/North Glenview train station.
