Arlington Heights police officers responded about 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2022 to a report of a psychiatric-related emergency involving an armed male adult in a condo unit at the Fountains of Arlington Condominiums, 601 West Rand Road in Arlington Heights.
Arlington Heights police officers deployed less-lethal weapons, lethal weapons, and ballistic shields at the scene. At least nine police units responded to the scene. Arlington Heights Fire Department firefighters and paramedics were assigned to the scene about 3:18 p.m.
The threat was resolved within about 30 to 40 minutes, without any further injury to the male adult at the condo unit. Arlington Heights Fire Department paramedics transported the male adult to a nearby hospital.
