In the month of May 2022, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office concluded the second-round of 2022 tobacco compliance checks. The checks were conducted at businesses which sell tobacco/nicotine products throughout Lake County. The compliance checks are intended to ensure businesses selling tobacco/nicotine products are not selling to anyone under the age of 21.
The businesses checked include those within the jurisdiction of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, or communities which contract with the sheriff’s office for policing services, not those within municipal city/village limits.
Of the 70 establishments checked, 6 failed the compliance check, 64 successfully completed the compliance checks.
