Hit-and-Run Crash with Elmhurst Police Vehicle at Lake St and York St

Elmhurst police reported about 7:30 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2022 that a suspected DUI driver hit an Elmhurst police vehicle and left the scene at the Thornton’s gas station at Lake Street and York Street in Elmhurst.

The offender’s vehicle was described as a gray GMC Envoy that was last seen northbound on York Street from Grand Avenue. The driver of the gray GMC Envoy was described as a male/black, age 34, 6’2″ 200 LBS, wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.




In the GMC Envoy, there was also female/black subject, age 22, in a passenger seat, wearing a green jean jacket. There was also a female black passenger wearing green camel shirt, and another female/black passenger with no further description.

There was also a red GMC pickup truck driven by a female/black driver following the GMC Envoy.

The crime occurred about 7:30 a.m.
