Police, firefighters and paramedics from Hoffman Estates responded about 2:43 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2022 to a report of a crash with injuries at Sutton Road and Golf Road in Hoffman Estates. Two people from each vehicle were transported by paramedics to nearby hospitals.
Police were first on the scene an initiated CPR for one of the victims immediately when they arrived.
Battalion 6 requested a second ambulance about 3:03 p.m. A third ambulance was requested about 3:14 p.m. A Streamwood ambulance was assigned as the third ambulance.
The crash involved a BMW and a Lexus. Sutton Road was blocked between Shoe Factory Road and Schaumburg Road; and Golf Road was blocked between Bartlett Road and Sutton Road.
The crash scene transitioned from EMS rescue to police investigation about 3:35 p.m.
The Village of Hoffman Estates posted on Twitter that the Hoffman Estates “Police Department is on the scene of a serious vehicle crash investigation at the intersection of Sutton/Golf Road. It’s anticipated that the intersection will be closed for several hours and traffic is being diverted out of the area. Please avoid the intersection.”
Both Golf Road and Sutton Road are 4-lane state highways with an additional left turn lane at the intersection. The Speed Limit on Sutton Road near the crash scene is 45 MPH, and the Speed Limit on Golf Road near the crash scene is 50 MPH, according to Google Street View images.
