The Zion Police Department is seeking help from the public to gather information about a shots fired incident that occurred earlier this week.

On Tuesday March 08, 2022 at approximately 7:49 p.m., the Zion Police Department responded to reports of multiple shots fired in the area of 27th Street and Galilee Avenue.

Preliminary investigation determined that two vehicles pulled into the Hebron Townhomes parking lot and parked in the Hebron Townhomes’ parking lot, located in the 2700 block of Hebron Avenue, prior to the shooting. Multiple people exited the two vehicles and loitered in the parking lot. A short time later, occupants of a third vehicle, traveling east on 27th Street passed the Hebron townhomes, opened fire in the direction of the group in the parking lot. The group from the parking lot produced multiple firearms and fired back at the
third vehicle as it fled the area. It is believed that the drivers of the vehicles then chased each other east on 27th Street. Additional shots were fired between the three vehicles.

The area of 27th Street and Hebron Avenue is a heavily populated residential area. Multiple, residential homes
in the area were struck by gun fire. Multiple vehicles in the area were also struck by gunfire.

The Zion Police Department is seeking any and all information pertaining to this blatant disregard for
human life as well as personal property.
