A second water main break in two days near Arlington Heights Road and Sigwalt Street was reported about 8:40 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022. The location is near a water main break that occurred Wednesday morning, February 16, 2022.
Watch for lane reductions in hazardous and slippery winter road conditions. Better yet, it’s best to avoid Arlington Heights Road south of Northwest Highway, and avoid Sigwalt Street between Pine Avenue and Evergreen Avenue.
About 2 inches of snowfall is reported from this afternoon and evening’s snow event.
Wednesday, there was minor flooding at the intersection of Sigwalt Street and Arlington Heights Road at about 7:30 a.m. Public Works crews were quick to respond and completed the work to repair the water main at about 1:00 p.m.
Arlington Heights Road was recently repaved in a summer long project last year. Now there are two rough spots where digging was necessary to repair broken water mains — the incidents Wednesday and Thursday at Sigwalt Street and Arlington Heights Road, and a spot in the center southbound lane of Arlington Heights Road near St. James Catholic Church.
