North Chicago Homicide Investigation: Kenosha Man Shot and Killed on Kristan Ave Near 20th St, North Chicago

Police, firefighters and paramedics from North Chicago responded about 3:10 a.m. Sunday, December 5, 2021 to a report that a person was shot in the block of 2000 Kristan Avenue, North Chicago. North Chicago Police Officers arrived and located a 22-year-old man of Kenosha, Wisconsin, deceased. The man was located inside a residence and appeared to have been shot.




Based on preliminary information, it appears the man was the intended target of the shooting.

North Chicago Police requested the assistance of the Lake County Major Crime Task Force to assist in the investigation. Major Crime Task Force Investigators and North Chicago Police Detectives are actively investigating.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office responded and an autopsy is tentatively scheduled for December 6, 2021.




Local police may have spotted the suspect’s vehicle connected to the shooting death Sunday morning around 8:00 a.m. The vehicle was followed and there may have been a short pursuit in Lake County, but the suspect is still at large.
