Kenosha Police Department Calls Out Facebook Post by Scanner Page: “Another Disappointing Attempt at Disinformation”

Kenosha Police Department at 11:07 a.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021 called out the “Kenosha Area Police Scanner” Facebook page as (a)nother disappointing attempt at disinformation and provided a screen shot that stated, “Shooting near protest about the current trial”.

The Kenosha Police Department reported there was no shooting at or near the Kenosha County Courthouse.




As of 12:30 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021, Kenosha Area Police Scanner had not updated the post, had not provided a clarification or explained the discrepancy with the official Kenosha Police Department information.

Kenosha Area Police Scanner has over 17,642 likes and 18,096 follows as of Thursday morning, November 18, 2021. The official page links to a Facebook page of a law firm known as “The Law Firm of Xavier Solis, LLC” but there is no indication that there is any affiliation connecting Kenosha Area Police Scanner and the law firm. According to the law firm’s Facebook page, the law firm specializes in Criminal Law, Felonies, Misdemeanors, and OWI or Operating (a motor vehicle) While Intoxicated.

There are several scanner pages in the Kenosha area, one having over 70,000 likes.
