NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero announced Wednesday morning that Aaron Rodgers has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not play against the Chiefs in Week 9.

The Packers quarterback is unvaccinated, hence the quick determination of his status, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Jordan Love, Green Bay’s first-round draft pick in 2020, will get the start in Rodgers’ place, Rapoport noted.

Rodgers joins top receiver Davante Adams on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Adams was added to the list prior to the team’s Week 8 matchup against the Cardinals and has yet to be cleared to return.
