An unconfirmed and unidentified seismic event was reported to have occurred on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 4:24 p.m. CDT by an unknown seismic station with over 250 citizen observations, according to an unofficial earthquake observation website volcanicdiscovery.com. If the plotted epicenter is accurate, the epicenter was located at a depth of 12 miles under Hastings Lake or near Hastings Lake in the Hastings Lake Forest Preserve about 6.5 miles northwest of Six Flags Great America in Gurnee in Lake County.
