Sunday: Rain, with thunderstorms also possible after 4pm. High near 55. East wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
The tail end of a plume of scattered and broken clouds is pushing east through the area about 3:00 a.m. and leaving mostly clear skies by daybreak. Areas of frost were anticipated through the early morning hours with the potential for a few spots dropping to freezing conditions, particularly in the far west and northwest suburbs.

A climb in surface pressure as well as some drier air being fed in from the northwest will keep skies mostly sunny through the day today. Seasonable highs in the middle and upper 50`s are expected. Cloud cover will begin to increase about 4:00 p.m. and will gradually build across the area from the southwest through tonight in anticipation of a storm system which is forecast to arrive early Sunday. The forecast indicates 100% cloud cover by 7:00 a.m.
Rain is likely to begin by 9:00 a.m. Sunday and more than 1 inch of rainfall is likely Sunday. A little thunder is possible between 4:00 p.m. and midnight.
