Police, firefighters and paramedics from Palatine responded about 10:51 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021 to a report that a victim was trapped under a vehicle in front of a townhouse in the block of 1900 Cambridge Court in Palatine. A vehicle apparently collapsed on the victim when the victim was under the vehicle while it was supported by a jack.
The victim was immediately rescued from under the collapsed vehicle by firefighters, but was critically injured and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Palatine police are investigating the incident, and were at the scene during the day, Saturday, October 2, 2021.
The victim’s wife, Jheimy, wrote on gofundme that her husband Yeremi Gonzalez, age 36, died in an “unimaginable accident” and that their oldest boy, age 8, “was the first person to find his father in the circumstances that took his life instantly.”
