Lake Forest Police Department reported on Thursday, October 14, 2021 that the police department has investigated several residential burglaries during the month of October 2021.
According to the Lake Forest Police Department, the residential burglaries have mainly occurred between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. with the offenders either using force to enter a residence by breaking a door or simply entering through an unlocked door.
Suspects in two cases fled prior to officer’s arrival. In one case a burglar alarm was activated and in the second case a homeowner surprised the offenders.
During a third incident the offender was arrested after a witness called police.
According to the Lake Forest Police Department, there does not appear to be a pattern to the locations the offenders chose as the locations “have been scattered around Lake Forest.”
Lake Forest Investigators are assessing all information available to determine any patterns or commonalities to the incidents.
The Lake Forest Police stated that all residents should lock their doors — even when residents are home,
Residents were reminded to set alarms and keep all valuables and firearms in secure areas.
