Thursday: Showers, mainly after 2pm. High near 54. East wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
The clear skies overhead cooled temperatures across the area into the middle and upper 30`s early this morning resulting in some patchy frost, particularly in parts of Northwest Indiana. The clear skies, with some help from very light winds and dew points in the middle and upper 30’s, have also produced an area of fog focused over Northwest Indiana and reaching into parts of Will, Kankakee, and Iroquois Counties. The frost and fog will last through daybreak and shortly thereafter. Winds this morning will be light and variable before increasing to 5-10 mph out of the southeast this afternoon with gusts upwards of 15 mph.
No rain is expected through the day, although clouds will build from the southwest through the day leaving most of the area with a partly cloudy Wednesday though western and southwestern portions of Chicagoland may thicken up to mostly cloudy a bit later in the day. Cloudy skies are anticipated over the entire area by late this evening. Winds will back to easterly late tonight while maintaining gusts as high as 15 mph and possibly up to 20 mph right along the lake. Slight rain chances will move over the southwestern half of Chicagoland overnight tonight as a storm system approaches and is set to bring us another rainy day on Thursday.
