Police, firefighters and paramedics from Wheeling responded about 8:15 a.m. Thursday, September 2, 2021 to a report of a drowning victim at the Village Green Clubhouse pool at 1533 Baldwin Court in Wheeling. The woman was removed from the swimming pool before rescuers arrived, but witnesses did not know how long she was unresponsive in the pool.
Wheeling police began a death investigation Thursday after the apparent drowning of a 39-year-old woman Thursday morning at an apartment complex. The woman was identified as Wheeling resident Urmila Patel.
According to the Wheeling Police Department there were no indications of anything suspicious, but the investigation is ongoing.
