Lake County Sheriff’s Office Detectives Investigating Shots Fired at Gas Station on Route 41, Wadsworth


Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded about 4:10 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021 to a report of a shots fired at a gas station in the block of 41800 North Route 41 in Wadsworth. Deputies arrived and located numerous shell casings.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a driver in each of two vehicles drove into the parking lot and occupants of each vehicle exchanged gunfire. Drivers of both vehicles then fled from the scene. One of the vehicles involved was located a short distance away on Route 41, unoccupied. A sheriff’s canine team conducted a track from the vehicle, where it ended a short distance away, where those who fled from the vehicle are believed to have been picked up by another vehicle.

Nobody who remained at the scene was struck or injured during the gunfire, however, two uninvolved vehicles were struck by rounds.

Lake County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating.
