Police, firefighters and paramedics from Schaumburg responded about 7:24 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2021 to a report of a house fire in the block of 1200 Crest Court in Schaumburg. Firefighters received a report that a neighbor saw that there was smoke coming from the roof vents.
Engine 53 and Squad 55’s crews were first on the scene by about 7:28 p.m. and reported smoke showing from the attic on two sides. Battalion 5 upgraded the call to a Working Fire response by 7:31 p.m. Firefighters from Elk Grove Village and Hoffman Estates were assigned to assist Schaumburg firefighters at the scene. Firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights, Rolling Meadows and Wood Dale were assigned to stand by in Schaumburg fire stations.
Battalion 5 reported one line on the fire, and that it appeared that the fire was knocked by 7:35 p.m. Firefighters were checking for extension of the fire, and also rescued a dog from the 2-story single-family home.
Most or all firefighters and paramedics and outside municipalities were released or returned by about 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
