Crash with Injuries on Edens Expressway SB South of Dempster St Skokie

Illinois State Police and Skokie Police, and firefighters and paramedics from Skokie responded about 11:23 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2021 to a report of a crash with injuries involving a silver vehicle that went off the road into some bushes on I-94 southbound near Mile Post 38 near Touhy in Skokie. A caller also reported the vehicle rolled over.

The crash was also reported on the Edens Expressway southbound lanes south of Dempster Street. A crash was also reported northbound in the area.

The crash was actually located on the southbound Edens Expressway just north of Oakton Street. Skokie police found a black Chevrolet Impala that possibly involved in a rollover.

Two additional ambulances were requested by 11:31 p.m.

A MABAS Division 3 EMS Box Alarm Box #16E was activated at 11:39 p.m. at 8200 South Edens Expressway.

Fire department paramedics and/or command officers from Evanston, Lincolnwood, Morton Grove, and Wilmette.

Firefighters and paramedics from Des Plaines, Evanston, and Glenview were assigned to standby in Skokie fire stations.

Initially the number of vehicles involved in the crash were unknown. Two crash victims were transported to St. Francis Hospital, and at least on person was transported to Evanston Hospital. There were five people that refused medical transportation.

Some peopled serious injuries, but initially no injuries were reported to be life-threatening.
