House Fire on Halsey Drive Near Craig Drive, Des Plaines

Police and firefighter/paramedics from Des Plaines responded about 8:57 a.m. Sunday, June 6, 2021 to a report of a house fire in the block of 2100 Halsey Drive in Des Plaines.

Engine 62’s crew on arrival reported a small amount of smoke coming from the attic of a ranch home.

Firefighters initially had a report that there was a victim inside the house, but then received information that there was no victim inside. Firefighters searched the home to confirm there was no victim inside while another crew extinguished the fire with a hose line.

The fire was declared out within a few minutes.

Firefighters from Park Ridge, Rosemont, Schiller Park were assigned to assist Des Plaines firefighters at the scene. A Mount Prospect ambulance crew and an Arlington Heights engine crew stood by in a Des Plaines fire station to cover the City of Des Plaines while the fire operations were underway at the house fire.
