Fatal House Fire on Karlov Ave Near Lincoln Ave, Lincolnwood

Police, firefighters and paramedics from Lincolnwood responded about 4:15 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2021 to a report of a house fire in the block of 6900 Karlov Avenue in Lincolnwood.

The first fire crew on arrival reported smoke showing from the attached garage. Firefighters also discovered flames showing from a window in the house as the fire spread from the garage to the home.




Firefighters removed an unresponsive man in his 80s from the home; and paramedics transported him to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead about five hours later.

Firefighters from Evanston, Morton Grove and Skokie responded to the working fire before a MABAS Box Alarm was activated. MABAS Division NUMBER Box Alarm #3-15F1 was activated at 4:42 p.m.

Firefighters, paramedics and/or command officers from Chicago, Glenview, Niles, Northbrook, Northfield, North Maine, and Park Ridge were assigned to the scene.

Firefighters, paramedics and/or command officers from Des Plaines were assigned to stand by in a Lincolnwood fire station.




An Investigators Box Alarm was requested at 5:55 p.m.
