Attached Garage Fire on Chestnut Ave Near Palatine Rd, Arlington Heights

Police and firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 7:24 a.m. Sunday, January 31, 2021 to a report of anattached garage fire in the block of 1900 Chestnut Avenue in Arlington Heights.




Squad 2 firefighters on arrival reported nothing showing and no evacuation from a single-story ranch home with an attached garage, but upon opening the garage door Engine 2(?) firefighters discovered a contents fire inside the garage. Engine 2’s crew extinguished the fire using a skid load, and Squad 2’s crew checked the house to make sure residents were evacuated and that there was no extension of fire into the house.

Squad 2 firefighters in the house reported no extension into the house and assured evacuation of residents from the house.




Tower 1’s crew reported the fire was a contents fire inside the garage by 7:32 a.m. Engine 2’s crew declared the fire was out by 7:35 a.m.

No injuries were reported.
