Fire Destroys Interior at Auto Body Shop on Morse Ave West of Wright Blvd, Schaumburg

Fire in an auto body shop on Morse Avenue in Schaumburg.

Police, firefighters and paramedics from Schaumburg responded about 5:56 a.m. Friday, November 27, 2020 to a report of a commercial building fire on Morse Ave near Wright Boulevard. A caller reported flames showing through the roof.

Engine 53’s crew on arrival reported confirmed fire and upgraded the fire department response to a working fire response by 6:00 a.m.




Fire engines from Arlington Heights and Rolling Meadows and ambulances from Bartlett and Wood Dale were assigned to standby in Schaumburg fire stations while many of Schaumburg firefighters were at the fire scene on Morse Avenue.

Firefighters reported heavy smoke to the floor inside the building. Firefighters had a hose line in the front, a hose line in the back, and an elevated master stream to the roof.




The main fire was located at AG Works Inc. — an auto body shop — at 1032 Morris Avenue. Firefighters at the rear of the building also aimed a hose line stream to the ceiling at business to the west of the main fire at Untamed Auto — an auto repair and customization shop.

The fire was declared under control by about 6:22 a.m.

Initially, there were no injuries reported.
