Arlington Heights Public Works Forestry Department Special Operations for Christmas Tree or Holiday Tree at North School Park.
Arlington Heights Public Works Forestry Department crews were assigned a special project Tuesday morning, November 3, 2020 at a property at Euclid Avenue and Hickory Avenue in Arlington Heights.
Neighbors described that a Christmas or Holiday Tree was removed from a yard, and transported to North School Park at Evergreen Avenue and Eastman Street where the three was installed at the traditional location at the North School Park fountain.
The tree was grabbed at the top by a crane, and cut across the trunk just above ground. The tree was then transferred to a truck and transported to North School Park.
The tree was installed and decorations were immediately placed on the tree Tuesday.
The Annual Tree Lighting is scheduled annually on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Resurgence mitigation for the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic was activated on October 28, 2020 for suburban Cook County. The current mitigation restrictions include a “Limit to lesser of 25 guests or 25 percent of overall room capacity both indoors and outdoors.” As of Wednesday, November 4, 2020, the Arlington Heights Park District has last year’s schedule posted, and has not yet provided any indications or forecasts for the event this year.
