Police and firefighter/paramedics from Rolling Meadows responded about 9:11 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2020 to a report of a detached garage in the block of 2200 Hawk Lane in Rolling Meadows.
Police on arrival by 9:15 p.m. reported the garage was on fire, and the first fire crew on scene by 9:16 p.m. reported a fully-involved detached garage fire. Firefighters reported a good knock on the fire by 9:19 p.m.
A garage next-door showed some heat damage and firefighters investigated the next-door garage to make sure there was no fire started in the next-door garage. Firefighters also needed to pull down soffits to chase some remaining hot spots. past about 9:40 p.m.
Extra fire crews from Arlington Heights and Palatine were released by 9:23 p.m.
Wind was reported from the North at 14 MPH at 8:51 p.m. at the National Weather Service office at O’Hare International Airport.
