Adult Male Shot at Traffic Stop on Laramie Ave Near 46th St in Chicago

Suspect shot twice by a County Sheriff’s police during a traffic stop, officials said (CBS Chicago video).

Cook County Sheriff’s Police at about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2020 were involved in a shooting following a traffic stop near the block of 4600 South Laramie Avenue in Chicago. The traffic stop and shooting location is about eight blocks north of Midway International Airport in the LeClaire Courts and Archer Limits area west of Archer Heights.

Initial reports indicate an adult male was struck two times and was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he is listed in good condition, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

No police officers were injured in the incident.

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office in a statement said it is committed to transparency and accountability and has turned over the investigation to the Chicago Police Department.
