Man Found Hanging in a Tree on South Arlington Heights Road Immediately After Domestic Battery Call and Two Hit-and-Run Crashes in Arlington Heights

Death investigation at office complex on Arlington Heights Road following domestic battery call and two property damage crashes.

The Arlington Heights Police Department responded about 8:00 a.m. Thursday August 27, 2020 to a Domestic Disturbance in the block of 2400 South Goebbert Road involving a man possibly armed with a knife. The victim was able to safely leave the scene in a vehicle and met with responding Arlington Heights police officers at a safe location.

The suspect was reported to have fled the area in a black Lexus SUV and was possibly involved in two minor hit-and-run traffic crashes — one or both crashes occurred at or near Arlington Heights Road and Algonquin Road. No one initially reported injuries in the traffic crashes.

At 8:24 a.m. Arlington Heights police officers responded to the block of 2100 South Arlington Heights Road at an office complex parking lot to a report of a man hanging from a tree. Arlington Heights Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene, and the man was assessed by paramedics. Paramedics determined the man was beyond medical help, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Arlington Heights police secured the scene, and a Death Investigation was initiated.




The male who died at the scene is believed to be the suspect in the Domestic Disturbance from the South Goebbert Road address. There is no indication of any criminal activity or “foul play” occurring connected to the scene of the Death Investigation.

Arlington Heights Police Department stated that evidence suggests that this incident is contained and there is no risk to the community.

The identity of the deceased subject was initially withheld pending notification of next of kin.
