On Tuesday night August 25, 2020 the Kenosha rioting turned toward greater conflict between authorities using armored vehicles and rioters.
UPDATE: The live stream video from CJ Halliburton has been removed from Facebook with no explanation, and the aggregated live stream videos that included CJ Halliburton’s video have also either been removed or made private on YouTube.
MRAP vehicles retired from the military were introduced to the streets, and an increase in the number of Bearcat armored vehicles appeared on the streets in Kenosha. More “teargas” and non-lethal projectiles were fired at groups that refused to move. Rioters used dumpster to protect themselves from being hit.
Initially there appeared to be less arson fires, but a fire was discovered about 11:20 p.m. and burglaries, including the break-in to an ATM, was reported about 11:15 p.m.
About 11:38 p.m. Tuesday police requested firefighters respond to the Pizza Hut at 3001 Roosevelt for a dumpster fire that was threatening to extend to the Pizza Hut. Residents in a house nearby were evacuated from a house adjacent to the Pizza Hut building at the southwest corner of Roosevelt Road and 30th Avenue. The house is directly south of the strip mall.
Arsonists were also attempting to set cars on fire at a pre-owned car business lot at Sheridan and 63rd Street.
On Tuesday, authorities shut down gas pumps at gas stations, and blocked exits of of Interstate 94 near Kenosha. An increase numbers of rioters in the street were carrying long guns. Also, there appeared to be more armed civilians visible — out to protect their property. A voice was heard telling protesters that we understand you’re angry and that we don’t we don’t want to hurt you, but we want to protect our property.
At least one member of the National Guard appeared injured by some type of blast near the Kenosha County Courthouse.
