Police and firefighter/paramedics from Crystal Lake responded about 9:40 a.m. Tuesday August 18 2020 to a report of a rollover crash with entrapment at Route 31 and Three Oaks Road in Crystal Lake.
Firefighter/paramedics on arrival discovered box truck rolled with its passenger side on the driver’s side of a Chevrolet passenger car. At least two people were injured. Initially there was no confirmation whether extrication operations were needed by the fire department, but there was a report that two people were on the ground near the crash scene.
One patient was transported by LifeNet helicopter to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
Road closures in the area of the crash included southbound Route 31 at Three Oaks Road, according to a city advisory Tuesday morning.
The crash scene is under investigation. The Speed Limit for Route 31 is 50 MPH in the area of the crash scene. The Speed Limit for Three Oaks Road is 35 MPH in the area of the crash scene. An Empire Cooling Service ice delivery box truck was involved in the crash. The Chicago company delivers ice, coolers, ice machines, freezers, and refrigerators to the City of Chicago and surrounding suburbs.
