Lake County Sheriff’s deputies and Grayslake FPD firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday July 22, 2020 after a Lake County Sheriff’s deputy on patrol discovered a house fire in the block of 33700 Evergreen Drive in Gages Lake.
Firefighters and Lake County Sheriff’s deputies confirmed that the two residents of the home were safely evacuated and outside. Both residents escaped uninjured before firefighters arrived, and were sheltered by family members at another location.
The fire was extinguished in over 90 minutes. Firefighters were on scene until about 5:30 a.m. on for fire watch for any re-kindle.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The house was fully-involved with fire and was a total loss, according to fire officials. The damage estimate exceeds $180,000.
No firefighters were injured.
