One-Vehicle Crash on Roselle Rd Near Central Rd in Unincorporated Palatine Township Kills Schaumburg Woman

Police from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office and firefighter/paramedics from Palatine Fire Department responded about 5:04 a.m. Monday June 15, 2020 to a report of a serious crash with an unresponsive person inside an SUV on southbound Roselle Road just north of Central Road. Firefighters accessed the inside of the vehicle by 5:14 a.m. and found the driver dead in a white Nissan Rogue SUV.

Michelle Avila-Gonzalez, age 22, was pronounced dead at the scene via communications between Palatine firefighter/paramedics and a physician authority located at Northwest Community Hospital.

The crash was off-road and involved a tree, and possibly occurred sometime overnight Sunday/Monday in an unincorporated area of Palatine Township between Palatine and Schaumburg — also near the Paul Douglas Forest Preserve.

Funeral and visitation for Michelle Avila-Gonzalez is Thursday, June 18, 2020 at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.) Streamwood/Schaumburg. Following services, cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory.

**Due to current COVID 19 restrictions, a maximum of 10 people will be allowed in the funeral home.

According to Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, in order too allow others to pay their respects, visitation will take place outside 5:30p.m. until 8:00p.m., viewing through the window of the funeral home.
