House Fire: Extra Alarm Response on Steeplechase Rd North of County Line Rd in Barrington Hills


Police and firefighter/paramedics from Barrington-Countryside Fire Protection District responded about 4:01 a.m. Sunday June 14, 2020 to a report of a house fire in the block of 0-99 Steeplechase Road in Barrington Hills. Engine 37’s crew on arrival reported a fully-involved house fire on the outside; and reported initiation of defensive operations. A working fire response was immediately requested, bringing a Fox River Grove engine, a Long Grove tanker, and Inverness tanker, a Lake Zurich engine and a Lake Zurich fire chief.

A MABAS Division 4 Box Alarm to the Second Level was activated by 4:21 a.m. and to the Third Level by 4:30 a.m. Operations continued to be defensive at 4:35 a.m. Initially no injuries were reported, but this was not confirmed. Fire Command began to release crews about 5:53 a.m.

A Division 4 Box Alarm #38-1 to the Second Level was activated by 4:21 a.m.

Carpentersville, Algonquin , Mundelein, Hoffman Estates, Buffalo Grove responded with fire engines.

Nunda, Bartlett, Fox Lake, McHenry, Countryside, Grayslake, Crystal Lake, Round Lake, Prospect Heights, and Woodstock responded with water tankers.

Palatine and West Dundee responded with ladder trucks. Palatine was assigned RIT truck.

Lincolnshire responded with a rescue squad.

Des Plaines responded with an ambulance.

Carpentersville, Lake Zurich Fox River Grove, Cary, Long Grove, Carpentersville responded to the scene.

Air 5, Light 5 responded to the scene.

Standing by in nearby fire stations were a Wheeling ambulance, Deerfield engine, a Rolling Meadows ambulance, Streamwood engine, Nunda Chief.

Six tanker trucks were standing by a south side staging area at 6:12 a.m.

A Division 4 Box Alarm to the Third Level was activated by 4:30 a.m.

Rutland-Dundee and Schaumburg responded with engines.

Elk Grove Township, Antioch, Lake Villa, Spring Grove and South Elgin responded with water tankers.

Algonquin and West Dundee responded with fire chiefs.

UCP-13 (unavailable) and Rehab South were assigned to the scene.
