Winter Weather Advisory in Effect from 3:49 AM until 10 AM Friday, April 17, 2020

Light Snow began in Arlington Heights about 2:00 a.m. and as of 7:00 a.m. accumulated to 3.5 inches on grassy surfaces. No accumulation occurred on streets, driveways, and sidewalks. The overnight low was about 34°F (unofficial), and temperatures are expected to rise during the day to 43°F from 5 P to 7 PM. Therefore, no snow accumulation on streets, driveways, and sidewalks are forecast for the remainder of the day. However, an additional 0.5 inch is expected on grassy surfaces by the finish of the snow system about noon Friday. The snow is wet and good packing for snowballs.

The primary problem on roadways will be burst of snowfall that reduces visibility. Winds will be from the northeast, gusting to about 15 MPH until 3:00 p.m. If roads are still wet after midnight there will be some freezing from about 1:00 a.m. until 8:00 am. Saturday.
