Police Conducting Death Investigation at House on North Evergreen Ave Near Waverly Rd After Man with Gun Call, Arlington Heights

According to the Arlington Heights Police Department, on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at approximately 1:57 PM Arlington Heights police officers responded to a single-family residence in the block of 2400 North Evergreen Avenue for a report of a man with a gun. A resident of the address dialed 911 to report there was a man inside of the residence with a gun. Arlington Heights police officers arrived on scene and confirmed the initial report. All residents of the home were located and brought to safety, according to the Arlington Heights Police Department.

Residents reported the gunman was still inside the residence. Arlington Heights Police Department activated the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System (NIPAS) in order to secure the residence, according to the Arlington Heights Police Department. Upon entry by NIPAS tactical personnel, it was determined the male subject inside of the residence was deceased.

Arlington Heights Police Department detectives and forensics technicians are in the preliminary stage of conducting a very complex investigation. Arlington Heights police detectives are being supported by the Major Case Assistance Team.

Although only limited information is available at this part point, evidence suggests that this incident is contained, according to the Arlington Heights Police Department. The Arlington Heights Police Department stated there is no further risk to the community.
