Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced Thursday evening, April 2, 2020 her choice as new police superintendent as David Brown, the former police chief of Dallas.

Before the announcement, Mayor Lightfoot expressed her gratitude and praise to acting Police Superintendent Charles Beck.

Chicago Deputy Chief Ernest Cato, and
