Arlington Heights Police Warn of Fraudulent Phone Calls Soliciting Donations for First Responders and Families

The Arlington Heights Police Department alerted citizens at 9:24 a.m. on Friday April 3, 2020 that scammers are leveraging the COVID-19 pandemic to steal money and personal information.

The police messages stated that Arlington Heights Police have been informed of fraudulent phone calls soliciting donations for first responders and their families.

The Arlington Heights police conveyed that “While we appreciate our community’s willingness to donate, we would never solicit donations via a personal phone call, text, or email.”

Arlington Heights police advised if citizens have any questions or information regarding potential scams, please contact the Arlington Heights Police Department at 847-368-5300.
