#ad▼

Northwestern University reported Saturday March 14, 2020 that a second employee at Northwestern University tested positive for COVID-19. Both employees worked at the Evanston campus.

The first employee was reported by Northwestern to be an employee at Kellogg’s School of Management’s Global Hub on the Evanston campus.

Northwestern did not report the work location of the second employee, but the Daily Northwestern reported the employee works in the Office of the Registrar on the Evanston campus and is self-isolating off campus.

Students who have flu-like symptoms and are worried they might have COVID-19 were instructed to call Northwestern University Health Service at 847-491-8100 or their own personal health provider. Faculty, staff or other community members who have symptoms that could be COVID-19-related were advised to contact their health care provider or pursue care at an urgent care center. State and federal health officials have been advising people to call ahead for instructions, instead of just walking into hospital emergency departments or urgent care centers.

Because of the pandemic, Northwestern University students are not required to attend in-person exams. Faculty and students will receive more information about the options for completing their Winter Quarter exams.

The report from Northwestern was released on the same day that Gov. J.B. Pritzker and the IDPH reported there are 66 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Illinois.

Northwestern released two web pages for COVID-19 Information.
