Metra South Shore Passenger Train Derailment Near 14th St and Prairie Ave, Chicago — 3 Hurt

Police and firefighter/paramedics from Chicago responded about 7:50 a.m. February 22, 2020 to a report of a passenger train derailment at 14th Street and Prairie

Total of 3 passengers were initially reported injured — all ambulatory (Code Yellow-to-Code Green). A total of 78 passengers and crew members were listed on the train.

The train is derailed approximately 200 yards from the station. Firefighters are walking passengers back to the station approximately the distance of the 200 yards.

The Still and Box and EMS Plan 1 was struck out by 8:13 a.m.
