Natural Gas Leak After Gas Meter Knocked Off Commercial Building on Greenleaf Ave Near Carmen Dr, Elk Grove Village

Police and firefighter/paramedics from Elk Grove Village responded about 4:56 a.m. Saturday January 18, 2020 to a report of a natural gas leak that occurred when a gas meter was knocked off the side of a building by a snow plow.

Firefighters were standing by with a charged hose line, and Nicor was dispatched to the scene by about 5:12 a.m. No injuries were initially reported.

Winds were from the southeast at 8 MPH according to the NWS station at O’Hare International Airport.
