Police and firefighter/paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 6:53 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2020 to a report of a crash with injuries at Palatine Road and Eastwood Drive.
One patient was transported to Northwest community Hospital with injuries that initially were reported to be minor injuries. The ambulance transported without lights and sirens.
Apparently the driver of a dark colored Chevy Avalanche was eastbound on Palatine Road making a left turn the northbound Eastwood Drive. An uninvolved truck in the westbound lanes slowed down, which delayed the completion the turn of the Chevy Avalanche. The driver of a westbound sedan hit the right rear tire and wheel well area of the Chevy Avalanche.
The silver sedan was totaled with severe front end damage. The Avalanche had damage to the wheel assembly and rear axle, but it was not confirmed whether the Chevy truck was totaled.
It was not initially known if any citations were issued.
