Alert Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested three suspects after recognizing the suspects in prior retail theft incidents and pursuing them in a short vehicle chase starting from an area near Town Center Promenade, just northwest of Deer Park Town Center.

On Friday November 29, 2019, at approximately 5:40 p.m., two Lake County Sheriff’s deputies were on patrol in a retail shopping area in the block of 21800 West Long Grove Road, Deer Park when they saw a white Chevrolet Impala drive by with occupants they recognized from law-enforcement bulletins about prior retail thefts in Chicagoland.

Additionally Lake County Sheriff’s deputies discovered the Chevrolet Impala was reported stolen from Bloomington, Illinois. The sheriff’s deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the Chevrolet Impala, but the driver, Jonva C. Vivetter, 18, of the block of 6500 South Morgan Street, Chicago, disregarded police lights and sirens and fled eastbound on Route 12. As Vivetter approached Lake Cook Road, she struck three vehicles and a sheriff’s squad car, and fled eastbound on Lake Cook Road.

Vivetter continued eastbound on Lake Cook Road and entered the southbound Route 53 spur. While driving on the southbound Route 53 spur, Vivetter drove into a ditch and bailed out of the vehicle with the two other occupants in the vehicle. One of the occupants, Jamesha J. McChristine, 21, of the 7900 block of South Langley Drive, Chicago, was taken into custody immediately. Also, Dezire Cashay Ann Parker, 20, of the block of 3200 North Clark Street, Chicago, was taken into custody. Vivetter was taken into custody after a sheriff’s deputy deployed his Taser.

Immediately following the approximately 2.7 mile pursuit, and during an inventory of the crashed Chevrolet, Lake County sheriff’s deputies located approximately $2,500 worth of retail merchandise believed to have been stolen. The merchandise included Uggs or similar shoes; winter coats; jeans; and perfume, such as Chanel No5, Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris Eau De Parfum Spray, and Chance by Chanel Eau De Parfum.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
