Police and firefighter/paramedics from Northbrook responded about 5:00 a.m. Saturday November 9, 2019 to a report of a fire at Barnaby’s of Northbrook, 960 Skokie Boulevard.
Northbrook Battalion 11 upon arrival reported fire showing on the roof by 5:03 a.m.
About 5:11 a.m. firefighters believed the fire was on the roof and not inside the structure; however, firefighters were still investigating and extinguishing the fire.
Extra fire crews from neighboring communities were returned by about 5:15 a.m. as the fire was immediately extinguished or under control within about 11 or 12 minutes of arrival of fire crews and within 15 minutes of fire dispatch.
The restaurant was closed as of Saturday night. The Barnaby’s name is used by individual owners. The representative at the Arlington Heights Barnaby’s did not initially have any details about the Northbrook location, but at least one Northbrook customer had inquired by calling the Arlington Heights location to ask if they knew why there was no answer of the phones at the Northbrook location.
